.CPI Type 1

Several digital video camcorders create HD (high-definition) video clip file information and save them in a CPI file format. This format is an aide to the .MTS, or AVCHD, format which includes videos stream and metadata. The frame rate, FPS, and video proportions are saved in that metadata.

More Information

Sony and Panasonic together developed the AVCHD video format, and you can save the CPI files using that format. Consumers first used this file format in 2006 in Sony Handycam HDR-UX1 digital camcorders. CPI files are located in AVCHD/BDMV/CLIPINF folders. In those folders, HD digital video recording media is usually saved.
