SFK file type
Sound Forge Pro or MAGIX VEGAS automatically creates SFK files whenever an audio file is opened in them. These SFK files contain audio waves’ (.WAV) images. The newly created SFK files will have the same name as the original audio file, albeit with another extension, “skf.”
It would be best if you did not try to edit SFK files. Sound Forge Pro and MAGIX VEGAS automatically generate them whenever an audio file is opened. SFK files represent audio data visually yet don't have any audio.
If you edited the audio file with another software, it is possible to re-create the peak file. To do that, navigate from the Special menu in Sound Forge to "Rebuild Peak Data."
NOTE: In the beginning, Sonic Foundry developed Sound Forge Pro. Sony acquired Sound Forge in May 2003. Later, MAGIX acquired Sound Forge Pro in 2016.
