.MDS Type 2
A file with the ".mds" extension contains the formatting data for a CD or DVD. It represents what kind of data is stored on the disc and how it is arranged. For example, MDS can contain information about file size, storing standard and header data that describes the way the data tracks are built for this very disc. An MDS file, that was written by a CD or DVD, can be read by any standard CD and DVD player.
The main function of such a file is getting the access to data. It is similar to the connection between CUE file and BIN file. CUE file contains information about the corresponding BIN file with all its data. The same is the MDS file that usually goes in pair with ISO or MDF file and serves to load ISO or MDF image in a correct way before writing. IsoBuster can interpret these files directly.
