RSS files are used by many websites for distributing information that is often updated via RSS in an efficient, text-only format.
Users can subscribe to RSS feeds in order to receive timely, up-to-the-minute news stories and blog entries. Web addresses that end in ".rss" will open as an RSS feed in web browsers that support RSS.
