File format used by MapInfo mapping and geographic analysis software; saves a map visualization in a format that can be recognized by third party applications; used as an exchange format between GIS applications.
MapInfo is used for a generating visualizations of a variety of data sets, including demographics statistics, civil engineering information (roads, water mains, etc.), and business intelligence data.
