Files you open in the viewer
The file viewer and file identifier run in your browser. The files you select or drop are read locally on your device and are not uploaded to our server or to any third party.
Comments
When you post a comment we store the name you enter, your email address if you provide one (it is never shown), the comment text, the date, your browser's user-agent string and a one-way hash of your IP address. We use this data to display your comment, to moderate comments and to prevent spam and abuse. Comments remain published until they are removed; you can ask for removal via the contact page.
Contact form
Messages sent through the contact form (name, email address, subject, message and a one-way hash of your IP address) are stored so that we can read and answer them, and are deleted when no longer needed.
Cookies
files.wiki uses only technically necessary cookies: a session cookie and a security token (XSRF-TOKEN) that protect the comment and contact forms. We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.
Third-party services
Fonts and scripts are served from our own server. We do not embed third-party trackers. Links to program websites lead to external sites with their own privacy policies.
Server logs
Like any website, our web server records technical access data (IP address, time, requested page, browser) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify visitors.
Your rights
You can ask which data we hold about you and request correction or deletion, for example of a comment you posted. Please use the contact page.
