Autodesk Inventor allows you to create and simulate mechanical designs. It offers free form modeling tools that enable you to select a free form primitive that best resembles the shape of your design and mold the shape into your desired creation. Includes express mode capabilities that help you design and edit large assembly designs, including the parts that make up the designs. The digital prototype can also be used to generate engineering and manufacturing documents. This helps you deliver designs quicker and reduce errors.

Inventor gives you the ability to predict how your prototype will perform in the real world. You can simulate your design with comprehensive motion simulation and stress analysis tools. For the simulation, you can define driving loads, spring rates and friction characteristics. Also, Inventor's graphing tools help you read and understand the performance of your design. Inventor allows you to directly open AutoCAD DWG files from Inventor to view, measure, and plot designs. Inventor automatically creates layers and dimension and text styles based on the styles in the DWG file. Inventor also easily exchanges data with other CAD programs, such as CATIA V5, SolidWorks, and UGS.
