Description

CorelCAD is a computer-aided design (CAD) application used to create 2D and 3D technical drawings. CorelCAD integrates with the cloud, mobile devices, and other platforms for easy sharing and accessibility.

The CAD application supports the DWG file format along with with the DWS, DWT, DXF, DWF, DES, STL, and SHP formats. You can also export designs to CDR, DES, STL, and PDF formats and work with GIS files to visualize maps and geographic models.

CorelCAD features layer-editing capabilities that allow you to edit models on separate layers and provides a variety of 2D and 3D tools for creating mechanical, structural, and architectural drawings. Some of the advanced capabilities include filleting edges of 3D solids, viewing 3D models from multiple viewpoints, accurately measuring with dimension tools, marking up drawing items with freehand sketches, modifying and scaling text, and managing layer states.

CorelCAD's interface has tabs that allow you to organize your workflow and quickly switch between documents. You can also access your layers and tools in movable panes. If CorelCAD doesn't provide the tools you need you can install plugins for additional functionality.

CorelCAD is a quality design application that competes with Autodesk AutoCAD as a cheaper alternative. Engineers, architects, and project managers use the application to create and share technical drawings. CorelCAD has a lower cost, but it offers the same functionality as AutoCAD. Format support is another reason CorelCAD is worth a look.
