Description

Digia Qt SDK is a software development kit (SDK) used to create cross-platform applications. Before Digia acquired it, the SDK was created by Nokia.

Qt SDK is designed for C++ and the Qt Meta Language (QML) and commonly used to develop mobile applications, although you can build desktop and embedded applications, as well. Along with support for Windows, OS X, and Linux, the SDK also provides tool chains for developing Android and iOS applications.

Qt SDK comes with different utilities for each stage of the development cycle. The Qt Creator utility IDE is a useful tool that allows new Qt users to develop faster. Qt Designer is a WYSIWYG tool used for building and designing GUIs. QT Simulator allows you to test your application. Qt Assistant allows for online documentation in the Qt Help file format. Qt Linguist can be used to translate Qt, C++ and Qt Quick applications into other languages.

Qt SDK is a capable SDK to develop applications for mobile, embedded, and desktop devices. It does provide cross-platform support and useful development utilities, but Digia Qt SDK locks users into the less popular QML language, making it a difficult choice for developing applications.
