Description
ERDAS IMAGINE is a geospatial data authoring system. It combines remote sensing, geographic info system (GIS), and geospatial image processing, analysis, and processing. The software is included with the PRODUCER SUITE of the Power Portfolio and is available in Essentials, Advantage, and Professional editions.
The application provides tools for spatial modeling, map production, mosaicking, parallel batch processing, and change detection. It is mainly used to create 2D and 3D images, 3D movies, and cartographic-quality map compositions from geospatial data. ERDAS IMAGINE supports a wide range of data formats, including ESRI 2D & 3D shapefiles, TIFF and MrSID (Generation 3 – Geo Express), ESRI GRID and GRID Stack.
The viewer displays, combines and analyzes geographic data. ERDAS IMAGINE also includes the ability to add on to its capabilities, such as format compatibility, production toolsets, automatic terrain generation, and radar processing.
