Description

id Software Quake III Arena is third installment of the Quake series and differs substantially from the previous two installments. The game was first released on December 2nd, 1999 for Windows but is also available for OS X and Linux.

Quake II and Quake III were the previous installments that featured single-player gameplay. Quake III Arena bucks this trend and instead revolves around frenetic multiplayer action. There is no story, but the main objective of the game is to kill or frag enemies as you progress through tiers with increasing difficulty. The game provides weapons, ammo, power-ups, and health in various places around the map for you to use.

Quake III Arena is a different game than the two previous installments, but it remains a favorite among FPS gamers. It provides fun, frenetic gameplay and is opened to mods. At the time of its release and to this day still id Software Quake III Arena is considered one of the all-time FPS classics.
