Description
Trimble SketchUp 3D modeling software is used in architecture, interior and video game design, as well as mechanical engineering. SketchUp Make is available as a freeware, and SketchUp Pro is the professional version.
SketchUp is designed to have an intuitive user interface that is easy to learn and use. To create a 3D object all you must do is draw a shape and then push or pull the shape into a 3D form. SketchUp's 3D Warehouse also has thousands of pre-designed models that can be imported into your project.
SketchUp offers many other features that will help you with your workflow. You can create detailed tabular reports based off of the metadata stored in your models. You can also run area and volume calculations of individual or groups of surfaces and models.
Trimble SketchUp is a 3D tool that is very useful for a wide range of modeling needs. If you are interested in 3D design or are looking for a new modeling tool, it is definitely worth trying out. It is more affordable than other 3D software and you can try it out before you decide to upgrade to pro.
