Description

Microsoft Edge is a web browser that works on Windows 10 devices. It replaces Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox and offers some new browsing capabilities.

Edge features a home page that consists of a search bar powered by Bing and a customizable news and information feed. It offers a variety browsing options, including a favorites bar and web history, downloads, private browsing, developer tools, and opening a page with Internet Explorer. You can save articles to the Reading List for later reading and set specific webpages to open when you launch the browser.

There are many unique features in the browser. Cortana, Windows' virtual assistant, can answer questions and highlight relevant information. You can make notes, highlight, and copy any part of a webpage to share with others, save it to OneNote or Favorites, and even save it to the Reading List. The browser also includes a Reading view, similar to Apple Safari's Reader view, which strips unnecessary content away when you are reading through an article.

Edge is a significant upgrade to Internet Explorer because of all the new features and faster performance. Edge offers familiar browsing tools and unique features like Cortana integration or web notes capabilities. Edge has some limitations, including the inability to sync data between devices. Microsoft Edge is not yet on the same level as Chrome or Firefox, but it is a promising start for Windows 10 users.
