Description

Nuance PaperPort is a Windows document manager program that can scan, organize, and search documents. PaperPort allows users to eliminate paper and store important documents in an electronic format. The software now includes PaperPort Anywhere, a cloud service for storing documents securely over the Internet.

PaperPort can search .PDF documents created from paper copies. Using Nuance's proprietary Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology, PaperPort can import a scanned image, intelligently recognize its text, and generate a new document with the resulting text. This allows users to import and search digital copies of paper documents, such as letters, school assignments, tax forms, legal documents, receipts, and bills. PaperPort includes PaperPort Anywhere, a cloud service for securely storing scanned documents over the Internet. The service integrates directly with PaperPort and allows users to view their documents anywhere. PaperPort also includes iPhone, iPad, and Android support for viewing documents in the cloud.

PaperPort workspace provides multiple perspectives. It also includes a navigation feature that allows you to browse and preview documents. The scanning perspective allows users to adjust scan settings and create document images, which are saved as .MAX files. The software supports many types scanners such as desktop scanners, all-in-one printers, and mobile scanners. PaperPort allows users to save profile settings for each scanner, which helps ensure consistency between scans. Scanner Enhancement Technology options (SET) can be saved by PaperPort users. This allows them to crop, rotate, straighten, and enhance documents for optimal quality.
