Description

Apple Photos is a bundle of OS X applications that allows you to view, edit and share photos. It was first released for OS X in April 2015 as a replacement for the discontinued iPhoto and Aperture applications.

Photos allows you to organize your photos and videos in albums and access them from your Mac or iOS device through the iCloud Photo Library. You can make edits to images using the application, including cropping, rotation, retouching, cropping, and changing colors. Filters such as instant, process, tonal and fade can be applied to create the desired effect.

When you are done editing, you can conveniently share your images, whether it be through a social site, email, messages, or creating a book, card, or calendar. You can also import iPhoto or Aperture photo libraries. These are the programs that Photos replaced.

Photos is a useful tool that OS X and iOS users can use to quickly access and edit their photos. However, if you are looking for a powerful image editing tool you should look to Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, or GIMP. Apple Photos achieves what it was designed to do: make OS X and iOS users more familiar with their photos and make it easier to access them.
